We absolutely love working at The Cotton Room which is located in downtown Durham. The space is so malleable it’s a designer’s dream! So when Lindsey & George asked us to be a part of their special day at The Cotton Room, we jumped at the opportunity.

Flower Girls
Truly, is there anything more adorable than a flower girl? We get a little giddy when our clients allow us to include these sweethearts in the flower mix.
I mean… come on! Isn’t your heart just melting with cuteness overload?
It’s one thing to see them on, and it’s completely another level of adorable to see them in action.
Boutonnières
A seemingly small part of floral design, boutonnieres can make all the difference in the world. Taking the gentlemen of your wedding from looking nice to looking sophisticated, elegant and important. Just check out George and his groomsmen!
Really loving the details on each boutonniere, aren’t you?
The perfect final touch for the guys.
Bouquets
One of our favorite elements of designing wedding florals is the opportunity to work with each bride on her bouquet. It should be a unique vision: the bride’s favorite flowers and colors mixed with the expertise and creativity of the floral designer.
Have you ever heard the phrase “the love is in the details”? Well that’s how we feel about bouquet design. You can see it in Lindsey’s bouquet:
And in the complimenting bridesmaids bouquets:
Beautiful, aren’t they?
Ceremony
There are so many elements that can go into an elegant ceremony design. Florals, rentals, the aisle, the entrance to the aisle, the place where the actual vows take place… it can be overwhelming to some. However, if you allow someone like Joseph, our floral and event designer to take your vision to the next level, you quite simply end up with magic.
Isn’t it just jaw droopingly gorgeous in all it’s symmetrical goodness?
The front of the ceremony was equally as beautiful in it’s detail and floral/decor design:
Each hanging candle tied to perfection, each piece of greenery falling perfectly in place.
And the complimenting arrangements surrounding the space where bride & groom will soon say ‘I do’.
And now it’s time to see all this gorgeousness in action!
Reception
The transition from ceremony to reception is always a unique challenge, especially when they take place in the same space. However, working with Lindsey, George, their event planner Martha Stilwell and the staff at The Cotton Room made for a smooth and wonderful transition.
One of our favorite elements of The Cotton Room is it’s entry way table. What an opportunity to create a ‘wow factor’ when guests enter the room!
Martha Stilwell placed all the seating cards around the entry way table to begin the evening.
Still looks stunning as the evening progresses!
We chose to keep the guest seating tables relatively simple as the surrounding areas of the venue were so ornate. We rotated taller arrangements with smaller ones across all the tables:
With the head table placed directly under the ceremony greenery, we were able to adjust the ceremony decor to match the reception aesthetic flawlessly!
Overall it was such a beautiful wedding to be a part of and we were absolutely honored to help design Lindsey & George’s special day.
